Ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Shawn served several churches before pursuing a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, exploring white racial awareness in multicultural settings. Shawn has a psychology practice in Bethesda, MD, is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and the American Psychological Association.
