The Minister Bobbie Jean Baker Memorial Award supports the leadership of transgender women of color. The application deadline is March 1, 2019.

Transgender women of color, from all races, ethnicities, and spiritual traditions are encouraged to apply;.

“The Minister Bobbie Jean Baker award is focused on giving community builders a lil something to work with,” says Award Committee member, Ms. Diamond Stylz. “Because we have faith… TRANS-FAITH… that they will do what our fore-mothers taught us. Make an Impact!"

Applicants select one of three categories honoring Minister Bobbie Jean’s legacy:

Decisions will be made by May 1, 2019 and funds distributed before the end of May 2019. Awards may range from $100 to $1500 each, with at least one award in each category.

Black women have a history of making minimal resources stretch and bend to make major impacts in our communities. I learned from my mom and aunties.
